The Short Version
GetClawHub ("we", "us", or "our") operates the GetClawHub platform, accessible at getclabhub.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information when you use our Service — including visiting our website, creating an account, and downloading software through our platform.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy. If you disagree with any part of this Policy, please do not use the Service.
Information We Collect
We collect the minimum information necessary to operate the Service. We do not collect financial data, government IDs, or any sensitive personal data.
Information you provide directly:
- Your name — used to personalise your account and communications.
- Your email address — used to create your account, send your download link, and notify you of software updates.
- Your password — stored as a one-way hash (bcrypt). We never store or transmit plain-text passwords.
- Your Mac chip preference (Apple Silicon or Intel) — stored to serve you the correct installer and personalise update notifications.
Information collected automatically:
- IP address — logged for security and abuse-prevention purposes (e.g. rate limiting, bot detection). Not used for profiling.
- Browser type and operating system — used in aggregate to improve compatibility and understand our user base.
- Pages visited and timestamps — used to understand how users navigate the site and improve the experience. Collected via anonymised, first-party analytics only.
- Download events — we log when a download is initiated, associated with your account, to power your installation history.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect exclusively to operate and improve the Service. Specifically:
- To create and manage your account, and verify your identity when you sign in.
- To provide you with access to the correct OpenClaw installer for your Mac architecture.
- To send you a welcome email upon registration and, where applicable, a download confirmation.
- To notify you by email when a new version of OpenClaw is available (update notifications). You may opt out of these at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
- To maintain your installation history so you can re-download at any time.
- To detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive use of the Service (e.g. automated bulk downloads).
- To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the platform.
We do not use your personal information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the Service.
Data Storage & Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect it.
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.2 or higher). We do not operate unencrypted HTTP endpoints.
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a strong work factor. Plaintext passwords are never stored or logged.
- Our servers are hosted in secured data centres. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel only, protected by multi-factor authentication.
- We perform regular security reviews and apply security patches promptly.
Data retention: We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise all associated personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory reasons (e.g. fraud prevention records, which may be retained for up to 12 months).
Despite our best efforts, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we commit to notifying you promptly in the event of a confirmed data breach that affects your personal information.
Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use a minimal set of cookies, described below. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
- Session cookie: Set when you sign in to maintain your authenticated session. This cookie is strictly necessary for the Service to function and expires when you close your browser or sign out.
- Preference cookie: Stores your chip selection (Apple Silicon or Intel) so you don't need to re-select it on future visits. This cookie contains no personal information and expires after 12 months.
- Analytics: We use privacy-respecting, first-party analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. This does not involve third-party cookies or any personally identifiable tracking. No data is shared with analytics providers.
You may configure your browser to refuse all cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. Please note that disabling the session cookie will prevent you from signing in to your account.
Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information. We honour these rights for all users regardless of jurisdiction.
- Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
- Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data. We will fulfil deletion requests within 30 days.
- Portability: You have the right to request your data in a structured, machine-readable format (e.g. JSON or CSV).
- Opt-out of emails: Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You may also opt out by contacting us directly.
- Withdraw consent: Where we process your data on the basis of consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address in the Contact section below. We will respond to all requests within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately at the address below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
- For material changes — changes that significantly affect your rights or how we use your data — notify you by email at the address associated with your account at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
- Maintain an archive of previous versions of this Policy, available upon request.
Your continued use of the Service after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy. If you do not agree to the updated Policy, you may delete your account at any time.
